Health Insurance:
- Employee only Paid Leave: The Village of Ruidoso is our parent entity. The Village offers excellent benefits to all it's employees. The Village of Ruidoso uses a Progressive Vacation Accrual scale, based upon time with the Village, to determine how much paid leave an employee receives. The scale breaks down as follows:
1 to 12 months: 3.39 vacation hours per pay period Paid sick leave is accrued at 3.00 hours per pay period, regardless of time with the Village. There is no maximum amount of sick leave which can be accrued. Dispatchers can earn compensatory time with the department in lieu of overtime. There is a maximum of 96 hours which can be accrued. The Village of Ruidoso will buy back all time accrued, at your current pay rate, if you retire from the Village. If an employee decides to separate from the Village, either voluntarily or involuntarily, they will buy back the time at a lower percentage, based upon time employed. As employees of the Village of Ruidoso, we are given twelve paid holidays per year. Employees can also earn paid leave based on work safety.
