The Village of Ruidoso uses PERA (Public Employee Retirement Association) for it's employees retirement.
The Police Department is at PERA Level 5 - a 20 year retirement at 70%, or a 22.9 year retirement at 80%. This is based on the average base salary of your highest three years of employment.
The Village pays 22.9% into your retirement. You only pay 11.9%.
The Village also offers ICMA - 457 Deferred Compensation upon request.
