Our Dispatch Division is comprised of 9 Communications Officers. When fully staffed, these Dispatchers are divided equally amongst three shifts:
Day Shift: 0700 - 1500
Swing Shift: 1500 - 2300
Graveyard Shift: 2300 - 0700
The Lieutenant is the Dispatch Supervisor. The Lieutenant oversees all dispatch operations and assigns days off according to seniority.
Shift roation occurs every 4 months, typically in conjunction with the school
semester, for ease of furthering your education or attending to your family's needs. Dispatchers bid for their shift of preference based on seniority with the Department. Dispatch currently works 5 (8 hour) days, allowing you two days off.
