Our Patrol Division is comprised of 21 uniformed Officers. When fully staffed, these Officers are divided equally amongst three shifts:
Day Shift: 0700 - 1700
Swing Shift: 1400 - 2400
Graveyard Shift: 2100 - 0700
The Lieutenant is the Patrol Commander and oversees all shifts. Each shift has a Sergeant and Corporal. The Sergeant is the Shift Commander. The Corporal is the Shift Supervisor.
Shift roation occurs every 4 months, typically in conjunction with the school
semester, for ease of furthering your education or attending to your family's needs. Officers bid for their shift of preference based on seniority with the Department. The shift commander assigns days off to their subordinates. We currently work 4 (10 hour) days, allowing you three days off.
