[Project Update]

Friday, April 20, 2018: Roper Construction continued to level out the bottom of the river on the east side of the river and has backfilled the sewer line. Kimo Construction completed the third row of baskets on the southwest side (upstream) and has started on the Gabion Basket install on the southwest side closest to the bridge (downstream).

Monday, April 23, 2018: Roper Construction continued to work on the footings on the southwest side of the river. Kimo Construction has completed Gabion Baskets at the southwest wing wall and is working on preparing baskets for the final section of the southwest side.

Tuesday, April 24, 2018: Roper Construction and Kimo Construction completed the first row of Gabion Baskets on the southwest side of the river and backfilled up to the top securing and backfilling around the sewer line. Roper Construction continued to prepare footings on the southwest side and Kimo Construction started the second row of Gabion Baskets.

Wednesday, April 25, 2018: Roper Construction completed the footings on the southwest side of the river and began cleaning up the construction site. Kimo Construction began tying the two sections of baskets on the southwest side of the river and continued to fill baskets.

The Village of Ruidoso, the contractor, and the engineer met today to talk about the plan forward for the road construction. Discussion on the alignment of the roadway and the curvature of the guardrail were discussed. Zia Engineering and Roper Construction have agreed on the plan forward to keep project on track for a May 21st completion date.

Thursday, April 26, 2018: Roper Construction began leveling out the west side of the river and is bringing in fill material for the Gabion Baskets and hauling off debris. Kimo Construction completed the Gabion Baskets on the southwest side of the river and is prepared to complete the upstream transition baskets.

Anticipated progress for next week is as follows:

· Kimo Construction will complete work on Friday 4-27-18.

· Roper Construction will complete backfilling the Gabion Baskets and grade the river banks for final seeding.

· Asphalt removal and road grading will begin in preparation for new paving.
