Business Recovery Center Opens in Ruidoso to assist businesses impacted by the McBride Fire

As part of the federal disaster relief secured for New Mexico, the Small Business Administration opened a Business Recovery Center at ENMU Ruidoso to assist businesses impacted by the McBride Fire. The center located at 709 Mechem Drive at ENMU is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5 PM. No appointment is necessary – all services are provided free of charge. Businesses of any size and private nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for assistance.

The Village of Ruidoso Community Development Department is now offering Business Analytic Mapping (BAM), a program that uses mobile analytic software tool to help businesses learn about industry trends and market traffic that is designed to give them insight into reaching more customers. Metropolitan Redevelopment Area Plan (MRA Plan)

The Village of Ruidoso and the Ruidoso Midtown Association has embarked on an assessment of the commercial corridor along Sudderth Drive, which includes Ruidoso’s MainStreet area and the gateway areas on either side leading into the MainStreet district, known as a Metropolitan Redevelopment Plan (MRA Plan). The purpose of the MRA Plan is to promote economic development in the Midtown district and the adjacent commercial districts that are the gateways into Midtown.

Village of Ruidoso to Begin Disbursing CARES Act Grant Funds to Local Businesses

In an effort to help small businesses that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Village of Ruidoso recently applied for and received $2,787,792 from the State of New Mexico. Of that amount, $1,171,500 was earmarked specifically for loans to small businesses in the Village that have suffered economic hardship during the past seven months.

The Village of Ruidoso was successful in obtaining approval from the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) for the financing of a new Magistrate-District Court building. Village of Ruidoso Receives $750,000 Community Development Grant

For the first time since 1986, the Village of Ruidoso recently applied for a Community Development Grant to improve the Town and Country Subdivision. Last week, Village management was notified that its application was ranked #1 in the state and was fully funded the maximum amount of $750,000.00. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring and is expected to last for 18 months.
