Village of Ruidoso offices and facilities will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of the national holiday. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
The Village of Ruidoso will hold a public hearing September 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM to consider Ordinance 2026-12, which would provide the same zoning treatment for HUD-certified single-section and multi-section manufactured homes and revise related definitions and allowable uses.

Join the Time Turner History Book Club for a discussion of Images of America: Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs by Lyn Kidder and Herb Brunell. Meet on Thursday, September 10, at 12:30 p.m. in the Ruidoso Public Library Conference Room. A limited number of copies are available for checkout at the library.

The New Mexico Home Recovery Program Town Hall is September 15 from 5:30–7:00 PM at ENMU-Ruidoso, Room 106. Residents can hear program updates, ask questions about housing recovery assistance and the application process, and provide feedback. The program supports eligible disaster-impacted households in Lincoln and Chaves Counties.

The Village of Ruidoso will hold a live surplus auction Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Schoolhouse Park/Community Center. Items include Village-owned vehicles, trucks, industrial equipment, a backhoe, Convention Center tables and chairs, and more. Public preview is Friday, September 25, from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Celebrate the beauty of fall at AspenFest 2026 in Ruidoso on October 3. This annual community festival is expected to feature a Midtown parade, live entertainment, food and drinks, family-friendly activities, and an after-party at Wingfield Park. Event schedules and additional details will be announced as they become available.
Join the Time Turner History Book Club for a discussion of Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky. Meet on Thursday, October 8, at 12:30 p.m. in the Ruidoso Public Library Conference Room. A limited number of copies are available for checkout at the library.
The XTERRA World Championship returns to Ruidoso October 8–11, 2026, bringing elite off-road triathletes from around the world to Grindstone Lake and Ruidoso’s trail system. Residents and visitors are invited to cheer on competitors and enjoy four days of championship racing. Temporary impacts to some recreation areas may occur during the event.

Ruidoso hosts the 2026 Outdoor Economics Conference October 14–16 at the Ruidoso Convention Center. This statewide event brings together leaders from government, tribal communities, and the outdoor industry to explore recreation, economic development, land management, and environmental stewardship across New Mexico.
The New Mexico Home Recovery Program Town Hall is October 20 from 5:30–7:00 PM at ENMU-Ruidoso, Lecture Room 201. Residents can hear program updates, ask questions about housing recovery assistance and the application process, and provide feedback. The program supports eligible disaster-impacted households in Lincoln and Chaves Counties.
Register for the Full Moon Night excursion hosted by Ruidoso Parks & Recreation. This fee-based trip includes round-trip transportation from Ruidoso to White Sands National Park. Event timing is subject to change. Sign up through the official Parks & Rec catalog online.
