Fire Restrictions Lifted as Danger Level Drops to “Moderate” Across Lincoln National Forest

July 3, 2025—Due to moderating weather conditions and increased moisture across the region, fire officials on the Lincoln National Forest are canceling Fire Restrictions and lowering fire danger levels to “Moderate” across all three districts effective Thursday, July 3, 2025.

This decision follows careful monitoring of fuel moisture, weather patterns, and fire activity. The shift reflects improved safety conditions, but forest visitors and partners are reminded that fire season is not over, and fire prevention remains a shared responsibility.

The following changes are in place:

• Stage II Restrictions are lifted

• Fire danger decreased to “Moderate”

Fire Prevention Rules are still in Place:

Fires must be attended. Unattended or abandoned campfires are illegal.

Fires must be dead out. Before you leave the area, drown your fire with water, stir with a shovel, and feel for heat before leaving.

No Fireworks. Fireworks and explosives are never allowed on National Forest lands.

Smoke responsibly. Never discard cigarette butts on the ground or in vegetation and fully extinguish before throwing away.
