Fire Restrictions Downgraded to Level I for the Village of Ruidoso Effective July 7, 2025

The Village of Ruidoso has officially downgraded local fire restrictions to Level I, effective 10:00 AM on July 7, 2025. While conditions have improved, residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant and follow all updated fire safety guidelines.

Level I Restrictions include:

  • Commercial fire pits are permitted only if specifically approved by the Ruidoso Fire Marshal.

  • Outdoor cooking is now allowed on all types of appliances, including charcoal grills.

  • Non-commercial fire pits, campfires, and fireworks remain prohibited within the Village of Ruidoso unless specifically permitted by the Fire Marshal.

A Reminder to Be Responsible and Firewise:

  • Citations will be issued for improper cigarette disposal.

  • No warnings will be issued for violations; citations will be enforced.

  • The Ruidoso Fire Department will provide prompt updates should restrictions change.
