The October 2026 edition of the Village of Ruidoso Insider welcomes fall in Ruidoso, with Mayor Lynn Crawford looking ahead to AspenFest and reflecting on a strong Labor Day Weekend for local businesses. Mayor Crawford also addresses news surrounding the proposed sale of the Quarter Horse Triple Crown and Ruidoso Select Horse Sale to Lone Star Park, recognizing the events’ longstanding connection to Ruidoso Downs and their importance to the community.
This issue highlights the 30th XTERRA World Championship, bringing more than 1,500 athletes from over 55 countries to Ruidoso October 8–11, along with the 2026 New Mexico Outdoor Economics Conference at the Ruidoso Convention Center October 14–16.
