Water Outage for Malone Rd. Waterline Replacement Project Tie-In
Beginning on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 9:00 AM the contractor for the waterline replacement project for the Village of Ruidoso will begin the waterline tie-in. Water service will be shut off beginning at 9:00 AM until the work is complete. Affected areas include part of the Upper Canyon and the Black Forest.
Former Ruidoso Mayor L. Ray Nunley has died. Service Set for October 25, 2019.
L. Ray Nunley, 81, who served as Mayor of Ruidoso from 2006 to 2010 died Tuesday, September 13, 2019. His funeral service will be Friday, October 25, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at First Christian Church in Ruidoso.

Waterline Repairs To Impact Water Service on September 11, 2019 in Hull Road and Gavilan Canyon Area
On September 11, 2019, the Village of Ruidoso water production department will be working on a pressure reducing valve in the Hull Road and Gavilan Canyon Area beginning at 9:00 a.m.. The listed areas will experience low pressure and/or total water interruption.
Village of Ruidoso Begins Additional Sewer Surveys
Beginning September 12, 2019, the Village of Ruidoso will be undertaking additional topographic and boundary surveys for the Mitigation Phase of the ongoing FEMA sewer line rehabilitation project. The Village has contracted with both Precision Surveys and Terra Land Surveys for these services. Survey crews will be in vehicles that will be clearly marked as Precision Surveys or Terra Land Surveys, and individuals will have safety vests during their working operations to assist property owners in identifying them.
VOR Lifts Wastewater Advisory
The Village of Ruidoso has officially lifted the wastewater release advisory for the Rio Ruidoso. The advisory was lifted after samples taken for five consecutive days tested well below allowable levels for the Rio Ruidoso.
Smokey Bear Ranger District To Continue Prescribed Burns
Smokey Bear Ranger District on the Lincoln National Forest hopes to take advantage of recent monsoonal rains and greening patterns to burn piles using prescribed fire in the Gavilan area beginning the first week in September and throughout the fall, as conditions allow.

Lane Closures On Sudderth and Mechem Drives For Sewer Line Maintenance
The Village of Ruidoso has scheduled sewer line maintenance street works on Sudderth and Mechem Drives beginning Monday, August 26, 2019, through Thursday, August 29, 2019. The work will be conducted between the hours of 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM beginning at Alpine Village Road on Mechem to Sudderth Drive right before Lincoln County Medical Center (weather permitting). During these times, drivers may encounter a single lane closure where work is being performed.
VOR Issues Wastewater Advisory
The Village of Ruidoso has issued a wastewater release advisory for the Rio Ruidoso area, downstream of the Country Club Road crossing in Lincoln County. The advisory was issued after approximately 500 gallons of raw sewage overflowed into the Rio Ruidoso on August 22, 2019, at 12:59 PM.

We’re on the way to a forest plan revision for Lincoln National Forest. Please join us in this process. Community meetings will be held July 16-19, 2019, in Ruidoso, Carlsbad, Cloudcroft, and Alamogordo to provide opportunities for input on the recently released Forest Plan Revision Need for Change and Preliminary Draft Forest Plan.
