The Village of Ruidoso will hold a public hearing during the Village Council meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM to consider the adoption of Ordinance 2026-12, an amendment to Chapter 54 of the Village of Ruidoso Municipal Code relating to manufactured homes.
The proposed ordinance would provide the same zoning treatment for HUD-certified single-section and multi-section manufactured homes. It would revise the definitions of “Manufactured Home,” “Mobile Home,” and “Permanent Foundation,” eliminate the separate definition of “Multi-section Manufactured Home,” and update allowable uses accordingly.
Under the proposed amendment, HUD-certified single-section and multi-section manufactured homes would both be regulated as manufactured homes in zoning districts where multi-section manufactured homes are currently allowed. The existing distinction between HUD-certified manufactured homes and mobile homes that do not meet applicable HUD manufactured housing standards would remain.
