Senior & Community Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering plays an important role in Ruidoso and throughout Lincoln County, connecting residents with local organizations and meaningful opportunities to serve the community.

The Village of Ruidoso previously administered the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) through an AmeriCorps Seniors grant. The Village relinquished its RSVP grant effective March 31, 2026, and no longer administers the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program.

Although the Village-administered RSVP program has ended, volunteer service in the community continues. Organizations that participated as RSVP volunteer stations indicated they intend to continue their volunteer efforts after the program transition, and many participating volunteers chose to remain active in their communities.

AARP Tax-Aide Volunteer Opportunities

AARP Tax-Aide provides free tax assistance with the support of community volunteers. Volunteer opportunities may include tax preparation and other roles supporting the program.
