Lincoln National Forest Adjusts Fire Danger Rating

Rating lowered to ‘high’ for all three forest districts

June 5, 2025 – The Lincoln National Forest has lowered the fire danger rating from “ very high” to “high” effective Thursday, June 5, 2025.

When the fire danger rating is “high,” wildfires are likely. Fires in heavy, continuous fuel, such as mature grassland, weed fields, and forest litter, will be difficult to control under windy conditions. Control through direct attack may be difficult, but possible, and mop up will be required.

Emergency Stage 2 Fire restrictions remain in effect on the Lincoln National Forest. It is important that visitors are aware of the risks and take the proper precautions while in the forest. More specific information regarding the Emergency Stage 2 Fire Restrictions can be found at www.fs.usda.gov/r03/lincoln/alerts/emergency-stage-2-fire-restrictions.
