Bluff Springs Closure for Recreational Site Maintenance and Bridge Restoration

Lincoln National Forest has issued a closure order for the Bluff Springs Recreational Area on the Sacramento Ranger District. The temporary closure is necessary to protect public health and safety while Forest Service crews complete annual maintenance, restore key infrastructure, and bring facilities up to current safety standards.

The order is in effect from August 20, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. through December 31, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.—or until lifted earlier if work is completed.

Areas Affected

  • Bluff Springs Recreational Site and T112 Bridge: Includes the designated parking lot, vault toilets, and the Willie White Spur (Trail 112) bridge.

Crews will focus on two main improvements: the primary bridge crossing and the parking lot. These upgrades are expected to improve access, enhance safety, and support recreational enjoyment for visitors.

Alternate Access

  • Willie White Trail T113: Located just east of Bluff Springs, this trail connects west into the Willie White Spur (T112) and leads directly to the springs. Day-use access via this route remains open.

Please note: use of the T112 bridge is no longer allowed, and dispersed camping in the Bluff Springs area remains restricted.
