PNM to Conduct Utility Work on Gavilan Canyon Road and Hollywood Substation Area, October 20–24, 2025

PNM Transmission and PNM Distribution crews will perform utility work on three poles in Ruidoso beginning Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 24, 2025.

Drivers should expect temporary road and lane closures in the Gavilan Canyon Road and Hollywood Substation areas. Please allow extra travel time and plan alternate routes where possible.

Traffic control measures, including signs, barricades, and flaggers, will be in place to assist motorists.

Work Schedule & Traffic Impacts

Monday, October 20

Location: Transmission Pole HG 4 (near the Hollywood Substation by the Travel Center)

Time: Begins 7:30 a.m.

Impact: Shoulder work only

Tuesday, October 21

Location: Transmission Pole HG 70 (307 Gavilan Canyon Road)

Time: 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Impact: Gavilan Canyon Road closed to thru-traffic from Meander Drive to Sutton Drive

Wednesday, October 22

Location: Same as Tuesday (HG 70 – 307 Gavilan Canyon Road)

Time: 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. or until work is complete

Impact: Road remains closed to thru-traffic from Meander to Sutton

Thursday, October 23

Location: Transmission Pole HG 105 (Gavilan Canyon Road near Canyon Hideaway & Escape RV Park)

Time: 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Impact: Single-lane traffic from Warrior Drive to Prospect Road

Friday, October 24

Location: Same as Thursday (HG 105)

Time: 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. or until project and clean-up are complete

Impact: Single-lane traffic continues from Warrior Drive to Prospect Road
