Residents of Ruidoso may be affected by PNM Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) during extreme wildfire conditions. The Village is helping the community prepare through emergency alerts, resiliency centers, and preparedness resources. Residents are encouraged to review safety plans, register for alerts, and stay informed.

Ruidoso’s emergency sirens are used only during official wildfire evacuation orders and are tested twice monthly at 5 PM on the 1st and 15th. Due to the ongoing Blue 2 Fire and predicted high winds and fire danger, the Village of Ruidoso will NOT conduct the regularly scheduled siren test first of the month on Saturday, June 1st. Stay informed via our Blue 2 Fire Information Hub and take necessary precautions.

Ruidoso Office of Emergency Management, in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) & the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), will take part in the nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system at approximately 12:20 PM MDT on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
