XTERRA World Championship 2026
The XTERRA World Championship returns to Ruidoso October 8–11, 2026, bringing elite off-road triathletes from around the world to Grindstone Lake and Ruidoso’s trail system. Residents and visitors are invited to cheer on competitors and enjoy four days of championship racing. Temporary impacts to some recreation areas may occur during the event.
2026 Outdoor Economics Conference
Ruidoso hosts the 2026 Outdoor Economics Conference October 14–16 at the Ruidoso Convention Center. This statewide event brings together leaders from government, tribal communities, and the outdoor industry to explore recreation, economic development, land management, and environmental stewardship across New Mexico.

Wingfield Heritage House Museum will participate in the 2026 Cloudcroft Museum Fest on Saturday, July 18, from 10 AM–4 PM at the ice rink in Cloudcroft. 2026 Battle of the Badges Blood Drive
Help save lives at the Battle of the Badges Ruidoso Blood Drive on Friday, July 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 541 Sudderth Drive. Walk-ins are welcome, though appointments are encouraged. Every donation helps patients in need, and donors will also be entered for a chance to win a car valued at up to $30,000. Give blood. Give hope.

The Village of Ruidoso invites residents and property owners to attend public meetings for the Ruidoso Bridge Replacements Project on June 16 and 17, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 PM at the Ruidoso Convention Center. Meetings will include a short presentation followed by opportunities to review preliminary project information, meet with the project team, and ask questions about upcoming bridge replacement planning efforts.

Join the U.S. Forest Service, Ruidoso Parks and Recreation, and EcoServants for a National Trails Day Clean-Up in Ruidoso on June 6. Volunteers of all ages are invited to help care for local trails while enjoying a community day outdoors. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.

The Community Flood Preparedness Workshop scheduled for June 3, 2026, has been canceled due to weather conditions. Residents and visitors are encouraged to review the Flood Aware 2026 presentation slides from the National Weather Service and Village of Ruidoso Emergency Operations Center, covering monsoon weather, burn scar flooding, flash flood alerts, emergency preparedness, and flood safety information.
Kids College 2026 at ENMU–Ruidoso
Kids College at ENMU–Ruidoso returns June 1–5, 2026, with hands-on learning for children. Choose full-day (8 AM–5 PM) or half-day sessions (8 AM–12 PM or 1–5 PM). Pre-register by May 1 to reserve your child’s spot.
