Temporary Closures and Parking Changes Planned for IRONMAN 70.3 Ruidoso
June 29, 2026 (Ruidoso, NM) — As Ruidoso prepares to welcome athletes and visitors from around the world for IRONMAN 70.3 Ruidoso, temporary closures and parking changes will be in effect at Grindstone Lake and the White Mountain Sports Complex from Monday, July 6, through Sunday, July 12, 2026.
While some facilities will be temporarily closed to support the event, several popular recreational amenities will remain open with alternate access and parking available. Spectators are also invited to enjoy race-day festivities at IRONMAN Village at the White Mountain Sports Complex on Sunday, July 12.
Grindstone Lake
Grindstone Lake, the Wibit Water Park, and the Grindstone Lake parking area at 111 Wiggins Way will be closed throughout event week. The lake and parking area will reopen following the conclusion of event activities on Monday, July 13, 2026.
The Grindstone Park Disc Golf Course and hiking trails will remain open during the closure. Trail access will be available via Fisherman’s Trail, with parking provided at the disc golf parking lot located at 509 Resort Drive.
Please note that spectators will not be permitted at Grindstone Lake on race day. Family, friends, and fans are encouraged to watch the race via the live stream at IRONMAN Village.
White Mountain Sports Complex
The White Mountain Sports Complex parking lot, located at 687 Hull Road, will be closed Monday, July 6, through Sunday, July 12, 2026, and will reopen following the conclusion of event activities on Monday, July 13.
The dog park and pickleball courts will remain open during the closure. Parking will be available at the Ruidoso Convention Center, located at 111 Sierra Blanca Drive.
Visitors attending IRONMAN Village should plan to park at an alternate location and walk to the event, as public parking will not be available at the White Mountain Sports Complex.
