The June 2026 edition of the Village of Ruidoso Insider welcomes the start of summer in the mountains while highlighting the Village’s continued focus on flood preparedness, infrastructure investment, and long-term recovery following recent wildfire and flooding events.
Mayor Lynn Crawford reflects on the season ahead, acknowledging the temporary pause of horse racing in Ruidoso Downs while celebrating the events, visitors, and traditions that continue to shape summer in Ruidoso. Seasonal highlights include the Cool Summer Nights free concert series at Wingfield Park, IRONMAN 70.3 Ruidoso race weekend, Midtown Market, Brewdoso, and a full calendar of community events throughout the summer months.
This issue also provides important public safety and recovery information, including an overview of the Village’s Clean & Lien program and the updated Outdoor Warning System policy, which clarifies how and when emergency sirens will be activated during life-threatening flood or wildfire events. Residents are encouraged to review flood safety procedures and familiarize themselves with the continuing Flood Safe Partners initiative as monsoon season approaches.
Additional features spotlight community achievements within Ruidoso Municipal Schools, expanded healthcare services at Lincoln County Medical Center, ongoing work by the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce and Ruidoso Midtown Association, and upcoming cultural programming at the Wingfield Heritage House Museum and Ruidoso Public Library.
