IRONMAN Success, Infrastructure Investments & Back-to-School Safety

The August 2026 edition of the Village of Ruidoso Insider celebrates the success of Ruidoso’s inaugural IRONMAN 70.3, highlighting the athletes, volunteers, Village staff, and community partners who helped make the international event a defining moment for the Village. Mayor Lynn Crawford also looks ahead to the return of IRONMAN in 2027 and 2028, the upcoming XTERRA World Championships, and explains the purpose of the Village’s new Automated Speed Enforcement cameras as part of an ongoing commitment to public safety.

This issue also features $11 million in new Colonias Infrastructure Fund grants for roadway, drainage, and waterline improvements, the completion of major street projects, the Ruidoso Fire Department’s new ladder truck, and recognition of the Village’s Employees and Department of the Quarter.
