As the 2026 monsoon season approaches, the Village of Ruidoso invites residents to attend a Community Flood Risk and Resilience Workshop focused on preparedness, awareness, and safety.

These sessions will provide practical guidance on understanding local flood risks, including heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and runoff impacts from recent burn scars. Attendees will learn how to prepare their homes and families, interpret weather alerts, and take appropriate action before, during, and after a flood event.

Workshops are offered on May 6 and May 20 at the Ruidoso Convention Center, and June 3 at the Village Emergency Operations Center, all from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Residents are welcome to attend the date that works best for their schedule.

Led by local and regional emergency management partners, the workshop is an opportunity to ask questions, gain clarity, and strengthen community readiness ahead of the summer season.
