If you’ve been affected by recent flooding in our community, the Village of Ruidoso is here to help. Below you’ll find up-to-date information on where to find supplies, support, and essential services.

  • For anyone needing temporary shelter, clothing, other necessities:

      *Residents can apply for federal disaster assistance online at

      disasterassistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app, or by calling 1-800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. MST. They will also be located at the DRC.

      Hours:

    • Monday - Friday: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

    • Saturday: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

    • Sunday: Closed

  • SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center Opens at Ruidoso Public Library

    November 3, 2025—The U.S. Small Business Administration has opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at the Ruidoso Public Library, open Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. SBA staff are available to assist homeowners, renters, and business owners affected by the June–August floods. The physical loan grace period ends Dec. 14, 2025; EIDL applications close Apr. 22, 2026.

    • The Red Cross is conducting Client Case work and Recovery Intake at the Disaster Resource Center (DRC) located at the ENMU Annex Building next to the college.

  • Potable water is available beginning Saturday, August 2, 2025, at

    • Wingfield Park, 300 Center Street

    • Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    • Please bring your own water containers.

  • To help ensure safe and efficient debris pickup, please follow theseFEMA guidelines for separating and placing household debris at the curb.

    ⚠️ Never touch or move downed power lines. Keep all debris clear of utility poles, hydrants, and meters.

    Clearing debris after a flood or wildfire is dangerous—both physically and chemically. Before you begin, it’s important to take safety precautions to protect yourself and your family.

    Key recommendations include:

    • Wear protective gear (gloves, masks, eyewear, long sleeves and pants)

    • Avoid disturbing ash or hazardous materials

    • Take photos of damage before cleanup for insurance or assistance claims

    • Never handle downed power lines or burn debris

    • Disinfect anything that got wet
