REACH Survey Seeks Resident Input on Disaster Impacts
Emergency Manager Eric Queller explains how the REACH Survey supports local disaster recovery efforts.
February 26, 2026 (RUIDOSO, NM) — The Village of Ruidoso Office of Emergency Management is inviting residents to complete the REACH Survey (Ruidoso Emergency Community Health Survey) to help Village officials better understand the impacts of recent disasters and support effective local recovery planning.
The survey provides a structured way for residents to report disaster-related property impacts — categorized as destroyed, major, minor, or affected — and enables emergency management officials to assess needs across the community.
Why the Survey Matters
Information gathered through the REACH Survey plays a key role in:
Documenting community-wide damages
Supporting coordination with Lincoln County and the State of New Mexico
Informing requests for additional recovery resources
Facilitating connections with nonprofit partners providing assistance
Accurate reporting allows the Village to work more effectively with nonprofit organizations offering services such as debris removal, hazardous tree removal, and property cleanout assistance.
Emergency management officials emphasize that resident participation helps ensure local needs are clearly identified and that assistance is directed where it is most needed.
How to Participate
The REACH Survey is available at:
