FIRST COVID-19 CASE CONFIRMED IN LINCOLN COUNTY - April 4, 2020

The first COVID-19 case has been confirmed in Lincoln County. There is no word yet on how the person contracted the virus or if it can be linked to recent travel.

“This is the news that none of us wanted to hear, but there is no need to panic,” said Mayor Lynn Crawford. “We have been planning for this, and we have full confidence in our local medical facilities and personnel and know they have prepared for this. They are ready to care for this individual and the others that are sure to follow. Please remember to observe the Public Health Emergency Orders that are in place and practice proper social distancing so that we can work together to keep the numbers as low as possible.”

To date, there are 495 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State of New Mexico, and there have been 10 deaths.

Please call the Coronavirus Hotline at 1-855-600-3453 if you are experiencing symptoms.
